Wise words from the GOP……to the GOP

“I think the Republican Party would be well advised to get the heck out of people’s bedrooms and let these things get decided by states,” said [Rudy] Giuliani during a break from his tour of New Hampshire. “We’d be a much more successful political party if we stuck to our economic, conservative roots.”

  1. Certain members (read: those who will never again hold office) of the GOP are sent out and told to say things which sound nice and reasonable in an attempt to sneak some people into their sphere, while the elected Republicans do everything in their power to subjugate them.

  2. Yeah, but Rudy says that from a pandering point of view, not from any well of libertarian constitutionalism he has inside of him.

Many on the right perceive an agenda to not just allow gays their God-given equal rights, but to shove the gay agenda in our faces and force us to call it normal.

Case in point is the gyrations over gays in the military. All they had to do was simply de-criminalize all forms of gay sex by amending the UCMJ. Dress and behavior is already very regulated in the military.

I and almost every other vet I know has known people who were gay or thought to be while serving. They kept it to themselves and nobody said anything. We didn't ask and they didn't tell.

Now, we've got to have diversity celebrations about it, presidential pronouncements and parades in the street cheering that the evil, intolerant DoD has been brought to heel.

  3. Oh I know Rudy is the true blue GOP….as a former Republican it's just always nice to hear sanity from that corner.

And I'm no fan of the activist crowd in the homosexual community, but is it really different from the fringe elements in any societal subgroup?

One of the issues I am both perplexed and entertained by, is the notion that gay marriage/civil union somehow affects heterosexual marriages…or the quality of life and liberty in general.
